Introduction to the Internet and Issues in Media and Technology

REFLECTION 2

WHAT WAS THE TASK

The task at hand was to define the terms 'virus,' 'malware' and 'antivirus.'

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

-We were divided into groups. My group consisted of three persons.
- Since there were three words to define, we divided the task once again to a word per person.
- My word is define was: VIRUS...
-I open to google app on my smartphone
-Then in the search box provided I inserted "definition of virus in relation to technology."
-There were many results, so I scanned through to find a suitable definition.
- I then recorded my founding in my exercise book.

WHAT WERE MY CHALLENGES

During this research, I am happy to say that I didn't experience any challenges. My research flowed smoothly; internet connection was impeccable and my team members cooperated well to get the work done efficiently and on time.

WHAT DID I LEARN

In this week's class, I learnt:

Educators

1. Jean Piaget

He believed that development precedes learning and that children are born with very basic mental structure on which all subsequent learning and knowledge are based. His theory focuses development instead of on learning.

2. Erick Erickson

He developed eight stages of psychological development by which humans develop through within their entire life span.

3. Lev Vygotsky

Vygotsky believed that learning precedes development. According to him, learning is facilitated through social interaction, intellectual scaffolding, language and through the Zone of Proximal Development.

4. G.Stanley Hall

According to G. Stanley Hall, adolescence is a period of storm and stress. He describes the period as a period of inevitable turmoil that takes place during the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Being a teacher, this newly acquired knowledge will be very beneficial. It will allow me to have a better understand of my students and be better able to deal with them. Studying the different educators and their theories, I will now be able to pinpoint why and how students behave the way they do. Being able to better understand and deal with them, I foresee better results and a better relationship with my students.

The information learnt may not be directly used in my lesson but I may be able to pass on the information to others.

THANKS FOR VIEWING
REMEMBER TO RETURN TO MY QUEENDOM!!!
