Values are our learned beliefs, personal preferences, about what we consider to be important, and give meaning and purpose to life. They guide our actions and act as the standard or measure for them.

Students will open the paper and draw lines to match their values to the activity. Students will share one value with the class. Teacher will tell students that we are all different and therefore our values may be different and my values might not suit the other person. Teacher engage students in a brief class discussion.

Step 3. Teacher will then say that out values did not just grow on us; we get our values from different sources. Students will ask to suggest some sources that influence their values. Responses will be written on the value tree mounted on the board. Students response may include but not limited to:
Family                                     friend/peers                             media (radio, magazines)
Community/society                 church                         personal experiences

Step 5: Class discussion on how the sources of values identified can have a negative or positive impact. Teacher gives students a scenario to identify their values and the sources that influence them.
